David Woodhouse | Experienced Chiropractor in Reading | Reading Chiropractor
Meet David Woodhouse DC (Chiro), M.Sc. Chiropractic, B.Sc. (Human Sciences)

As an experienced chiropractor in Reading, I have been helping people overcome pain, improve mobility, and return to the activities they love for nearly 25 years.

Having been born, raised, and educated in Reading, I am proud to serve the local community that I call home. I attended Little Heath School and Reading School before pursuing a career in healthcare. Today, I live locally with my wife and two children and enjoy running, sailing, football, motorsport, and spending time with my family.

My healthcare journey began with the study of Medicine in France before I went on to complete five years of specialist chiropractic training at the prestigious Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. I graduated with a Master of Science in Chiropractic and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2001.

Following graduation, I worked alongside a chiropractic neurologist in Ealing before returning to Reading to establish what would become one of the area’s leading chiropractic clinics. In 2003, I founded Tilehurst Chiropractic, which later evolved into Reading Chiropractor as the practice expanded and moved to its current location at Reading Health Centre in Castle Street.

Over the past two decades, I have helped thousands of patients from Reading, Tilehurst, Caversham, Woodley, Earley, Wokingham, and the surrounding Berkshire area. Patients commonly seek my help for:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sports injuries
  • Postural problems
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain

Alongside general chiropractic care, I have developed particular interests in sports chiropractic, pregnancy care, and paediatric chiropractic.

My passion for sports performance has allowed me to work with professional motorsport teams competing in prestigious endurance racing events, including the 24 Hours of Daytona, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), and the Grand-Am Championship. In these demanding environments, I helped drivers optimise performance, reduce injury risk, and maintain physical resilience throughout intense racing schedules.

I have also had the privilege of working with elite athletes, including Olympic gold medal-winning rowers and Premier League footballers, supporting their recovery from injury and helping them perform at the highest level.

Whether you are struggling with long-standing back pain, recovering from a sports injury, experiencing discomfort during pregnancy, or simply looking to move and feel better, my goal is always the same: to provide personalised, evidence-informed chiropractic care that helps you achieve lasting results.
I am proud to have served the Reading community for 25 years and look forward to welcoming you to the clinic.

I hope to continue working here for some time, helping Reading and the local community and look forward to welcoming you to our clinic.

Lucy Steel | Experienced Chiropractor in Reading | Reading Chiropractor
Meet Lucy Steel DC (Chiro), M.Sc. Chiropractic, B.Sc. (Human Biology)

As an experienced chiropractor in Reading, I have been helping patients overcome pain, improve function, and return to the activities they enjoy for many years. My passion for chiropractic began while studying at university, when I received treatment for neck pain. The improvement I experienced personally, and how clearly chiropractic made sense to me, inspired me to pursue it as a career.

I completed a degree in Human Biology at the University of Leeds in 2001 before going on to study at the University of Surrey, where I gained a Master’s degree in Chiropractic. I graduated in 2004 and have since worked in chiropractic clinics across Windsor, Maidenhead, and Reading, gaining broad experience treating patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Over the years, I have developed a strong clinical interest in the care of pregnant women, babies, and children. Much of my postgraduate training has focused on these areas, and I am passionate about providing safe, gentle, and effective care for families. I have two teenage daughters, and I have had the unique privilege of experiencing chiropractic care during my own pregnancies, as well as treating both of my children from just a few hours old.

I enjoy working with patients of all ages who are experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, including:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Sports injuries
  • Postural problems
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain
  • Paediatric musculoskeletal concerns

I am registered with the General Chiropractic Council and am a member of the British Chiropractic Association.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dogs, going for walks, running, Pilates, and reading.

I am proud to be part of the team at The Reading Health Centre and look forward to welcoming new patients, helping you move better, feel better, and stay out of pain.

Clare

I have a longstanding interest in health and believe every individual can play a part in their individual health journey.

I trained as a doctor at the University of Birmingham (qualifying in 1995) and afterwards trained and worked as a GP in Shropshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

After a prolonged break from medicine (for family reasons) – and dabbling with a touch of property development including project managing the build of my current home – I returned to the NHS in West Berkshire working as a phlebotomist. I have subsequently moved to One Day Tests and enjoy playing a part in helping individuals to monitor and track health goals.

I enjoy participating in anything outdoorsy. Swimming, cycling, tennis and a good ramble in the stunning West Berkshire countryside with my family and dog are regular weekend pursuits.

I look forward to meeting you shortly here at Reading Health Centre.

Charlotte Medlicott – MBACP

After studying languages at Oxford University I retrained and qualified with a Diploma in psychodynamic counselling and am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I work part-time at Basingstoke Counselling Service alongside my private practice and abide by the ethical framework of these organisations. I work with individual adults, and with couples. I am also a training therapist on psychodynamic courses.

I regularly work with clients across a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, identity issues, abuse and bereavement. I specialise in open-ended, long-term psychodynamic counselling.
I work out of a comfortable consulting room in central Reading, within easy reach of Reading train station.

In order to make sure that I work ethically and my work is kept to a high standard, I meet regularly with my clinical supervisor and also undertake regular Continuing Professional Development workshops in order to keep my knowledge up-to-date with current thinking.

Md Al Mabud (HCPC, CSP)

MSK Physiotherapist

My journey into healthcare began with a deep interest in how the human body moves and heals, leading me to earn my BSc in Physiotherapy in 2013. I am a fully UK-registered physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).

With over ten years of global and UK-based clinical experience, I have developed a diverse expertise that spans across musculoskeletal (MSK) health and complex spinal pain rehabilitation. My professional path has taken me from specialized rehabilitation centres internationally to my current role at Ann Physiocare, where I am dedicated to serving NHS and GP surgery patients within the Reading community.

I am a firm believer in “Lifelong Learning.” In 2023, I completed my Master’s degree in Global Public Health Nutrition at the University of Westminster. This academic background allows me to take a truly holistic approach to physiotherapy, understanding that recovery is often a blend of physical rehabilitation, lifestyle, and overall well-being.

I specialize in the assessment and treatment of MSK conditions, using evidence-based modalities. Whether you are dealing with a work-related strain, an orthopedic recovery, or a chronic condition, my goal is to provide a patient-centered experience rooted in empathy and clear communication. I take great pride in working autonomously to create bespoke treatment plans that help my patients return to the activities they love.

Outside the Clinic When I’m not in the clinic, I am committed to staying at the forefront of the profession through clinical audits and CPD programs. I believe that a great therapist never stops being a student, and I am always looking for ways to integrate the latest research into my daily practice to ensure the best outcomes for those I treat.

I look forward to meeting you, listening to your story, and working together to help you not only get out of pain but—more importantly—stay out of pain so you can get back to your own passions.

See you at Reading Health Centre !!!
